2010 Entertainment Book only $17.50 plus FREE Shipping !

A friend of mine emailed me a month or so ago and asked me if I thought the 2010 Entertainment Book was worth it. I told her yes. In my opinion, there are enough "usable" coupons in the book to more than make up for the out of pocket cost.

and much, much more. There are restaurant, shopping, entertainment, car care and even travel offers.

For the next 16 hours, Groupon is offering it's inaugural deal for Oklahoma City: $20 worth of fare at Bricktown Brewery for only $8.

Wondering what the heck Groupon is? Groupon uses collective buying power to secure various discounts from local vendors, attractions, restaurants, etc and then offers them to you. If enough Groupon members buy into the deal, then it's a go. If too few Groupon members want the deal, it's a no go. You can read more here.

Right now,  21 people have already bought in to the Bricktown Brewery offer so it's a done deal! I've heard great things about this restaurant...the food is delicious (if you like fried stuff) and the portions are HUGE!! Go here to read the fine print.

Deal Seeking Mom Coupon Database Returns ~

Last week I removed the Deal Seeking Mom coupon database because I didn't think anyone was really using it. So far I've had two people contact me asking "where did it go?".

I'm sure that means there are many more of you who were using it but just accepted it's disappearance and moved on without contacting me.

You will be happy to find that I've reinstalled the database for your couponing convenience.

I also wanted to let you know that I found another database that only records INSERT coupon that we receive in OKLAHOMA. While you can't find printable or non-insert coupons there, it does help narrow down which coupon we ACTUALLY did get.

Here's the link. Enjoy!

Search for Coupons Right HERE!

To make things more convenient for you, I have added the Deal Seeking Mom Coupon Database to Simple Saving Savvy. Simply scroll down to the very bottom and you can't miss it.

The very top tabs are not operating right now (I'm working on it) but the database is up an running.

Please remember that this is a database of all coupons from all regions. I will be creating my own personal coupon box from where I will pull our weekly coupon matchups.

At this point, the Deal Seeking Mom Coupon Database is not referring to any Target Coupon Generators as a source. As long as this is the case, the database will remain avaiable to you at Simple Saving Savvy.

Who says you can't teach an old dog new tricks?

I got up this morning to find this on my kitchen counter:

These are coupons found on the back of my husband's cereal box, Special K Blueberry.

He DIDN'T throw them away! He laid them right on the middle of the countertop so I would see them.

AND lately he's been clipping box tops.

This measures amazing accomplishment as we have gone from him not knowing what a box top was, to me digging the box out of the trash, to him leaving the whole box on the counter for me to remove the box top, to now...he actually removes the box top and throws away the empty box.

MY HUSBAND ROCKS!

Homeland ~ Coupon Policy Update

Updated 5/27/09

I still have not been by Homeland to pick up an actual copy of the new coupon policy but I did decide to call again to inquire about the "one coupon per transaction" rule that I'd been given yesterday. It just didn't sit right with me. So I spoke with Wade this morning and quizzed him quite thoroughly. He confirmed that "you CAN use more than one of the same coupon in one transaction, but only one will double." So the change is that you can no longer do back to back transactions. However, he also said that they are only allowing ONE doubled coupon PER DAY of like coupons. Whether or not they will track this with the ONE card is still to be determined. However, since this is their "official" policy, Simple Saving Savvy will back it up.

Posted 5/26/09
I received an email from one of my readers (thanks Cherie!) alerting me to a coupon policy change at Homeland. I did some follow up via phone and here is the scoop:

Homeland is not allowing back to back transactions from this point forward. So to take advantage of multiple deals, you will have to do separate shopping trips.

Also, they are accepting only one (1) of like coupons in the same transaction.

Guess this means I'll be shopping at Homeland twice in one week. But that's ok, the deals are worth it!

If you have any questions, they are handing out copies of the new policy. Just stop by your local Homeland and ask for one.

Look what's new!!

You can now print your coupons from Coupons.com without ever leaving Simple Saving Savvy! That's right, look in the center column and you will find the Coupons.com button. You can view all the available and NEW! coupons, and every time you print coupons from this link, Simple Saving Savvy gets the credit! I hope this makes things a little more convenient for you.

Great News for All You Subscribers

According to Tara at Deal Seeking Mom and Mercedes at Common Sense With Money, when readers spoke up about their dissatisfaction with the coupon differences between subscription and newstand copies, All You listened!

Here’s what they have to say:
Last month a few ALL YOU subscribers wrote to me to say how unhappy they were that more coupons appeared in the newsstand version of the magazine than in the copy they received in their mailbox. I agreed—as did my colleagues—that this was not ideal. Subscribers are our loyal customers and we certainly don’t want them to feel short-changed. We are currently reviewing our policies about accepting coupon advertising, with a goal of more closely aligning the coupon value in our newsstand and subscriber editions.

However, because they work several months in advance on an issue, their June edition on newsstands still has about $12.50 more in coupons than the version mailed to subscribers. BUT, you can claim this coupon booklet and have it mailed to you. All you need to do is email subsvcs@allyou.customersvc.com.

Please include in your e-mail:
1) Your account number, found on the mailing label just above your name and address. It is nine digits and is usually located between two asterisks, for example *123456789*2) Your name and address as it appears on the mailing label3) Your e-mail address4) A specific mention that you are looking for the “Coupon book from the June issue of All You.”
