Rumor has it.....



As you know, the Walgreen's Easy Saver Rebate program as it now exists will be no more at the end of April. There have been lots of rumors flying around about the new system, although no one, not even Walgreens employees, seems to know exactly what that new system will entail.

However the latest rumor and one with some credibility** is this: they will still offer rebates on certain items, but instead of rebates you can submit on-line and via all one form, a little slip will print out from the Catalina machine. You'll fill in your personal information and mail in.

**in the ad for 4/25, there is a caption under a rebate item that reads "rebate form printed at checkout".

What we don't know, is will you be able to mail several in one envelope to a processing center, or will you have to mail each one separately to the manufacturer?

If this is truly the system, here's what I, personally, don't like about it:

1) How many issues have we had with RRs not printing....won't we have some of the same issues with rebate slips printed from the same machine?

2) If we have to mail to individual manufacturers, that's alot of postage shelled out, especially since postage is going to $0.44 soon and will continue to increase with time.

3) It's just more to keep track of, and with available technology, it seems like Walgreens is regressing instead of progressing.

I guess we shall see. I'll keep you posted!
